See You Soon!!!

Well the transfers are in......and the results are......I don't have a transfer! No I'm just joking. It's the only transfer that I've been sure of haha! Yep. And....my companion has a transfer as well. Always staying outside of the capital so she'll probably end up in the Mission Cobán. We couldn't believe it. She's really sad and cried some but she slept on it and feels a little better now. I'm going to be going to the capital on Wednesday at 2am! Wow! And of course we don't ever sleep waiting because we talk and talk and then it's time so maybe I'll sleep a few hours that day haha!

We had a good week! Lucia and Evelyn got baptized! And it went super well! They're really happy. But now with this news we feel bad because we're both just going to drop them. Luckily the hermano that gave us the reference will take care of them. But it's sad. They're the best though. They'll be alright.

Marta did come back but we'll see what happens with here because she didn't make it to church this week. It's super hard knowing that we're going to drop the area like this. We can't even show the new hermanas a few things and tell them a few things to get them started with the area. It's worse than when they closed Los Olivos. I guess it's in God's hands...

As well Elder Sainz our ZL has a transfer so only Elder Burton will stay here in the area of us four from the ward.

We have so many people that we have a really good relationship with. Many have become our Mom's haha. (Of course they never take your real place, just for now until I come back ;))

I started to pack a little. I have most of my clothes packed, and my books are organized so I know which are coming home. I think I'll be bringing home less stuff than I thought but we'll see in the end. Possibly I'm going to be leaving my bed stuff or some of them for the space and all.

We played soccer again! And it was awesome! I really like to play with the elders. They make it lots of fun!

Well I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon! So that I can show you all the pics and all the stuff! It'll be great! And I'll learn how to speak pure English again hahahahaha!

Love you and see you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 days.............. XD

Lucia and Evelyn's Baptism!

Last Full Week!

We had a good week. We're really working hard with Lucia and Evelyn and they're excited to get baptized this Saturday. They were able to go to a baptism this last Saturday to see what it's like and they already decided who they want to baptize them. The brother that gave us the reference, Rodrigo, is going to do it. But they're so much fun! Everything's going well. Our other baptismal date, Marta, went home to visit her family so we're waiting for her to come back (hopefully today) to keep teaching her and getting her ready. But she likes the church. Also the family that she works for, Dunia, is reactivating. She's doing super good. Passing a few hard things right now but she's happy and trying to progress.

We had a pretty good week with the conference. It was super great with Elder Martino. We really learned a lot and some of the things were so easy but really insightful to help us out. Of course there was super good food, my companion with her cake, and I was able to see Elder Reyes that I hadn't seen since August. But it really went well.

These last two p-days have been pretty good. Here in Coban the sisters play soccer with the elders and it's awesome. Usually they don't really let us play. We get to touch the ball if by chance it passes by close to us. But last week and this week we really got to play. I decided that soccer is pretty fun! Last week I made two goals and this week I made one and helped with two others! Really awesome! I hope that we play next week......:D

But yeah I'm looking forward to working hard this week so that I can come home well!

Talk to you next week! And remember that I love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother's Day week

We had a good week like I told you. We put the three new baptismal dates. Like I told you with Lucia and Evelyn (the mom and daughter) for the 25th and Otto (11 years old) for the 8th of June. Otto is super good! He's come to church 4 times alone. His family doesn't come and he didn't come with the member that are his neighbors. We couldn't believe it when he showed up. Lucia and Evelyn are doing great as well. The showed up this week just for a little because they had another appointment or something that they had to go to but they said that this next week they would stay for the whole thing.

Apart from this you already know that mother's day the 10th was good here. I got to share a cake and the Saturday I was sick :( but I'm all better now. And Sunday I got to talk to you all.

I'm looking forward to this week because we have a big conference with three other zones. Elder Martino, one of the area presidency, is going to be speaking to us all. It'll be great!

Well I hope that you all have a great week and love you tons and tons and tons!!!

Goals for the Future

We had a good week! We had some new investigators come to church. We hadn't really talked to them because the speak mostly Q'eqchi' so we had just set up something so that they could come to church. One of the elders talked to them and asked when they were going to get baptized and they said that they didn't know. He asked how about in three weeks. They said that's fine. So we possibly are going to have baptisms in three weeks. Who know?! But we're working hard.

This week I had to write down my goals for 10 years down the road. I thought that it would have been harder but nope. I also had to write down spiritual experiences and good and bad attributes that I have, also attributes that I want in my future husband, and attributes that I'll bring to my marriage. It was crazy! But I got it all done.

We also had interview this week. This transfer was time for the interviews. I had my interview with Hermana Watts like normal but almost the whole thing was about getting ready to go home. What I'll have to do when I go home. Advice for how to stay strong like I am here in the mission and always staying in the church. But what scared me the most was when she talked about when you reach the point that you want to marry someone and what you should really look for. Wow that was a shock!!! I wasn't ready for that one. And it made me remember that, oh yeah now the real life begins. Nope sorry I don't think I'm coming home anymore......;) haha!

I'm looking forward to this week. One family invited us to visit them on Friday because it's Mother's Day and one of their daughter's birthdays. Then they found out that it's mine as well so they said that we had to come haha. It'll be a good week!! Thanks for the birthday present!

Thanks for everything and I hope that you have a great week!!!!!! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never Been So Good!

We had a pretty good week. The golden investigators didn't get baptized because when we talked with the ZLs they said that we had to make sure and talk with the mission office and everything. Because the ward told us to baptize them and our leaders said to do the other. So we're waiting to find out what happens with all or this. We had a really good Sunday. Weird, I know. It started out bad. All of the appointments fell through. Then we walked around looking for someone. In the afternoon like at 6pm we left with a member and she really helped us out. We were able to find people to teach. New investigators. Part-families that are members and part that aren't. One guy named Victor that wants to come back to the church but wasn't sure what to do. We came as an answer to his prayers. We're super excited to work with him and his family. We've been receiving lots of references this week and it's really helped a lot to work with them members to contact them and to have lessons. This ward is really super great and are helping us a ton.

The family Caal fell through. They really don't want anything. It's sad because they don't know what they're losing but they just won't do anything. Here's a picture when we were visiting them with a youth from the ward. Here name's Diana. She helps us a lot. I really have the best ward here in the mission right now. We're getting a lot of help from them. They visit them with us. And right now we just found some good ones that we're really looking forward to working here this week. Wow I never knew that the work could be so good. I also never knew it could be so stressful haha! Worrying about who's going to visit them with you and if they're progressing and everything. It's a great life! :)

Well I hope that you all have a great great week! Love you tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hermana Hotel

It was hot here. It rained one day and was a little chilly but then it's hot again. We're in summer right now! But they tell us that it's going to start raining in May again because that's the rainy season. Why?!?! It's all good......

We had a better week. A lot better than we thought we had. There were transfers this week and our house in the one most central for the sisters so we were the hotel this week. The ZLs told us that we were the ZLs this week for the hermanas haha. We had sisters Tuesday night for those that were going to the capital for their transfers and their companions stayed with us. We had to go at 2 in the morning to drop them off with their stuff. So basically we didn't sleep that night because we were all talking until it was time. Then in the afternoon the new companions came from the capital. Two stayed in our house that night and then the next morning at 6 they left for their area. And apart from this we were able to work some.

We're still working with the Family Caal. They're really tough. Cesar is the most willing of the brothers. He likes the activities and he likes church and all. He reads as well. We'll see what happens this week.

Two of the four that had missing records are going to get baptized. They found two of them but the others are gone. So this Sunday we'll have two baptisms for our golden investigators.

Marta is doing great. She likes the church and the members that she lives with, Hans and Dunia, are reactivating. We have to talk with Dunia because they need to get married but it's a goal for them. The problem is the goal that they had passed by....but we're going to talk to them.

I'm doing good here. Looking forward to the next few weeks here in this area. I love it here and I love my companion so things are good.

I hope that you have a great week and love you tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last Transfer

This week was alright. We didn't have as many successes as we wanted but we were able to have a good day yesterday. All the appointments we had all fell through and we didn't know what to do. Finally on Sunday we called and talked to the dad of the Family Caal and he said that they would come to church so we passed by their house to bring them. The dad wasn't there and the family had no idea what we were talking about. So we went back to the church (we live like two houses away from it) and we really discouraged.  On top of that, when the meetings started Marta wasn't there. We had had a really good lesson with the less active members that she works and lives with and they were going to bring her and they didn't show up. My companion and I were super disappointed. We were fasting because it was fast Sunday and I started to pray. I just wanted to go back to the house and cry. But then Marta and the family showed up. That made things better. Also when the third hour of church was starting, we had already headed for the Relief Society, and one of the elders came and got us and said that we had a family of investigators there. We couldn't believe it and when we saw them it was the family Caal. We felt so much better. After a horrible week and then this, we didn't know what to do. But this made everything better. In divisions I was able to visit the family Caal with a couple that speak Q'eqchi' that were able to really explain the church and meetings and everything to them. I really didn't understand anything.....but another member that was with us explained to me what she understood of what they were saying and it was super good to help them come back to the church.

Things are going well here. The other lady, Gladis Caal, that lives on the side of Dunia (the family that Marta works for) is going alright. Her husband doesn't want anything and she isn't sure what she's going to do. We have a FHE planned for her with Dunia, the family, and Marta so we hope that that goes well.

We're possibly going to baptize this month because there's like 4 people that don't show up in the church records, so we're going to baptize them haha. What do you say to free baptisms haha! But it's good though. One is a less active that we're working with that's really working on coming back and we were worried that maybe she has problems with chastity so that makes it easier to bring up the topic because they have to pass the baptismal interview.

Well you all know that I'm doing great and I'm happy so I hope that you're all doing well. Be safe and love you tons!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah and my companion and I didn't have transfers. Yes Hermana Ramos (my first companion) goes home on Thursday and today she's been with us. It's been nice to see her.

General Conference

The conference was really good! I loved it and learned a lot. The talk from President Monson was super good and it made me feel good that it's not only in mission that they're always talking about obedience haha! And of course Elder Holland and Elder Oaks were good. I really enjoyed it all. I remember before that I felt like the conferences never end and now I feel like they go by so fast!! I was able to see in English for the last three sessions. Just the first on Saturday I saw in Spanish. It was kind of hard to understand because there were two talks that the people talked really fast so then the translations were super fast. It's never as good as listening in English. Also Elder Falabella is from here! Woohoo! That was awesome to see.

We had a good week. We're really working with the Family Caal. The one that has all the kids. Sofia, Cesar, and Rigoberto are really coming along. This week we were able to talk about the restoration and put a date to baptize them. We have to work more with the parents to baptized them sooner but they really pay attention. The other two are a little bit younger and don't put as much attention. But of course they'll follow the family.

We're working with a family, the parents are Amalia and René. They're Evangelists but they really like the church. One of the sons was able to make it to the conference (that's why I saw one in Spanish) and really liked it. They're probably going to come this Sunday to church to see what it's like.

We also had a good experience. We were trying to visit a less active and when we got there they weren't there. We were knocking and the neighbor poked her head out to tell us that they weren't there. So we started talking to her and we were able to share a little. She really like the hymn I'm a child of God. She almost started to cry. They're searching for a church. Because she's raised Evangelist, her husband Catholic, and they can't decide on one. So maybe they'll go for the middle and choose the Mormons haha.

We're having alot of success here and loving it. My companion is great and we love every moment together. I'm glad that you were able to have a good week and hope that everything goes well this week. Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zone Conference

Things went well here. We were able to find lots of new families but I'll let you know after this week because we just put appointments with them. But it was a nice week. Friday we had zone conference and we were able to learn a lot about how we can work better. We did some practices and we able to find what we need to work on. They're focusing a lot on baptism invitations. That we shouldn't be afraid to invite the people because this is why we are here. And even more in that we have the Spirit with us so that they feel it in the lessons, that we can invite them to be baptized, and what we need to do to help them accept the invitation. It was really good and we really felt the Spirit. I feel like I've been growing a lot recently in trusting more in God and trying to complete my role and a missionary and representative of Jesus Christ.

We visited the family Caal (they're the ones that have the kids that are going to teach us Q'eqchi'. They're doing alright. The one that's progressing the most in Sofia (the oldest) but it's hard to meet with her because of her work. But we're working with it.

We were disappointed this Sunday because we didn't have any investigators there.....but we're working with them. I'm excited for this week because it's General Conference!!!!!! It's going to be great! I love all of the talks and everything!

Hope that you like the pictures. They're from Samuc Champey. The "Tikal" in Cobán. It was awesome and tons of fun. We wanted to go swimming so bad because it was a little hot but we were good and only put our feet in. It helped cool us off.

Well hope that you all have a great week! Love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Investigators

I had a good week! We were able to work a lot. We visited with a lot of less active members. There's one that's really awesome. Her name's Thelma. She's come to church two weeks in a row and she's willing to change and do things right. She has two daughters that are super great as well. It makes me super happy to see her there. It's been a little hard for her because single mother and all but she wants to do things right. Juana and her daughter don't want anything. So we don't visit anymore.

We also found a really good family! They're awesome! There's like 7 of them. There's three more children but I think that they live in the capital. The girl that we contacted wasn't there but the others told us that she's reading the Book of Mormon and we were able to share with the rest about the book and especially the parents. We feel like they're ready and it should go well. We also have an agreement with them that they're going to teach us Q'eqchi' and we're (or I'm) going to teach them English. They're like little rays of sunshine that we've found.

Well this week is the semana santa (Holy Week) leading up to Easter. Hopefully things will go well this week. There's a lot of Catholics here and they do parade like things where they carry a Jesus that's carrying a cross on their shoulders. I don't understand exactly why but they do. They also decorate the streets with colored sand or something that are called alfombras. Some are pretty creative. We missed the parade yesterday but they tell us that Friday and Saturday we're going to see a lot more. Sweet! We had to walk through one of the group (they do mini groups as well leading up to the big event) and there was a guy video taping it with the camera and we both walked right in front of it. Opps! So the ormon missionaries are going to show up the catholic movie....that was a mistake. Also the ward that I'm in has a trip to the temple this weekend. Friday and Saturday. That makes it a little hard to work because we have to have a member but we'll figure things out.

Well, hopefully the weather is good this week. Last week was super nice and it's kind of raining today but hopefully it'll be nice the rest of the week!

Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

40-80 degrees!

So we had a pretty good week this week. We worked hard and we had lots of appointments. Some fell through but we're coming along. Sunday we were able to leave with an ex-missionary that helped us out a lot. So far we pretty much know the members and we working on getting more investigators. We have a lady names Juana and her daughter. They're kind of rejecting us a little. I don't know it's weird with them because she acts like she doesn't want us to come and then after she's like, why aren't you visiting. I don't know. We'll see what happens with her. We found a new family this Sunday, they're evangelists, but we're going to visit them and see what happens as well. Some of their neighbors don't attend church so maybe we can work with them as well.

We had stake conference this weekend and it went really well. We really felt the spirit and were able to bring some less active members. They really liked it. The members are all super great and really help us out with everything.

Today we went to see some caves that were pretty cool. This week was cold but finally warmed up this weekend and it's like in the 80s right now. It was in the 40s before. I had my coat, scarf, boots, leggings, like everything to try to stay warm haha. Yeah the houses are definitely different here. They don't have stuff to keep the house warm or hot and there isn't anything like conditioning or heating. Just some fans when it's hot haha. But it's all good. I like it! Hope you enjoy the warmer air as well!

I hope that you all have a great week and enjoy the pic! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coban

This week was pretty good. Tuesday I went around visiting people and saying goodbye. Wednesday I went to Santa Elena in the morning. Waited for the transfer with the other sisters and finally I knew that I was going to Coban. So then we went to the terminal around lunch time to take the bus and found out that there was a bus that wasn’t going directly to Coban with this group anymore. So three elders and I went a different route. We even had to cross a river in a boat (that doesn't happen too often in the mission....!) and finally made it to COBAN! And it was raining when we got there haha. Not too much just a little. I met my new companion. Her name's Hermana Cena and she's from El Salvador! She's really great! She's 19 years old! I thought I wouldn't get to meet a young one but here she is.

We're basically opening area because we were going to be three but the other’s visa came so she's going to her assigned mission. So we're learning the area. We already feel pretty good here and this week we're looking forward to working here.

Sorry I don't have much time today! Love you all and be safe!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodbye Hermana Branderas!

Transfers!

Well....Daniel's baptism didn't happen....there was some stuff that happened. He left his aunt's house to live with his father (the father lives here in Poptùn) supposedly to "help" him. We weren't able to visit him but the elders did because it's in their area. He lied to the elders and the aunt lied to us as well. Right now we don't believe either side of the story and in the end it didn't work out. So that fell through.

We had a good week. We really got out and worked on finding new people. We were able to get some more and we also received some references from some members so that'll help the area a lot.

I have a TRANSFER. It's for sure outside of the capital but I don't know where. They tell me that possibly Coban (it rains a lot and is cold there). I'm excited but also a little nervous. I'm going to be training again. I really hope that I don't die of cold there.....It's been hot here but the last few days we had a cold that wasn't as bad as last time but I didn't really enjoy it haha. Maybe I have to go there so that I don't die when I come home from cold ;) haha! But it should be great! A new experience and the best way to finish the mission! My companion as well will be staying here and is going to train. I'm excited for here. She's a little nervous but she'll do awesome.

Love you all and have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot, Hot, Hot

I can't believe that snow back home! I told Dad this but right now I can't even imagine snow. It's hot here. Yep we're sweating a ton. Drinking tons of water. Sometimes you shower at night because it's hot....but we're doing good haha! I always tell Anna to send me some cool air so that we don't die down here. I don't know what the temperature is here but it's got to be in the 90s. And with the dirt roads we have feet nice and tan at the end of the day for the dust haha!

So this transfer we have 7 weeks because of the mission area changes that they're doing so this week is week 7 and next week are the transfers. We'll see what happens. It could be that I go, my companion goes, or we get a third. All we know is that like 40 missionaries are going to be entering this transfer. Maybe more.

Daniel is definitely coming along well. He finished the Book of Mormon. He's going to get baptized this Saturday!! He has a goal to graduate from institute and then convert his family to the gospel because he knows that it can really help them. We're so proud of him. He was so cute one day because we were talking about him getting baptized and he has such a hunger to learn that he asked if we were going to finish teaching him before his baptism. We said yes and he asked what would happen after, if we would stop visiting. We told him that we would keep visiting and that others would visit as well. He was happy haha! Tonight we're going to have family home evening with his family and Nilza's family (the girl that left for the mission).

We're also working with Marisol and Charlotte. We put a date with them to get baptized but this Sunday they couldn't come to church. We're not really sure what's going to happen with them because they're kids so it's alittle bit harder.

The family Flores made it to church again this Sunday so that was good. We're not really sure what to do with them because the parents really don't have much interest in learning more but they keep going because the son likes it. We're going to try focusing on just him and see what happens from there.

Well this week we went to a wedding. One of the members got married this week and invitied us all to his wedding so we got to go! It was awesome! The elders told that early in the morning the day before the wedding they went and helped kill the cow for the food that we would eat. Crazy! My companion and I just went to see them get married and then we got to eat. It was really good! And then we left because they started all the dancing and stuff haha. But it was really nice to see. This morning they were supposed to get sealed in the temple which is even better!!!!!

We also had a mission activity where we did a movie night. But not too many people showed up. We were alittle put down but we'll do a better activity the next time and involve people so they have to at least show up for a little bit haha!

Well I hope that you all have a great great week! Love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valentine's Week

Daniel is really doing good (the brother of Welser). He's already passed Helaman in the Book of Mormon and on Sunday in the class he was asking what he needed to do to find out of the church is true. We've always explained that he needed to pray but I think he didn't really connect the two things together. He says that he always feels good when he reads the book of mormon. We're going to invite him to be baptized this week so pray for him and us so that everything turns out well. The family Flores isn't doing too well. The main interest is Jonathan and he really likes the church but his parents really aren't too interested. Maybe later on... The always tell us to come back though so we'll keep trying. We have some new investigators. They're nieces of a member. Marisol is 12 and Charlotte is 8. They came to church with us this week. Marisol is really good about remembering the things that we teach her and trying to do her "homework" and read the Book of Mormon. They're really good possibilites as well for baptism.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your Valentine's Day. We went to a Relief Society activity and ate cake haha. Hermana Brandaris as well gave me a card. I gave her one as well.

We feel really good about how things are coming along with the investigators that we have. They're progressing really well and we're trusting more in the Lord and our obedience.

I hope that you have a great great week! Love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be safe!

Mission Calls

We had a better week this week. Vanessa doesn't meet with us anymore. We showed up and she ignored us so we dropped her. We were able to visit the Family Flores this week. We went with the Branch President and his wife so that was super awesome. They're doing pretty good. Best of all we have a newer investigator. I don't remember if I told you about Welser the baptism that counts for us but the elders did all of the work. Well he went back to his family but his brother showed up. He didn't show any interest at all when he came. But he felt like he should come to church one week and then during this week we gave him a Book of Mormon. After three days when we came back he had already read all of 1st Nephi! He really wants to know more about the church and he feels really good when he reads the book. We couldn't believe the change in him.

That's awesome about all the mission calls. It's really crazy how the whole world is going nuts with this. Everyone's going on a mission! It's awesome!! We heard that they're opening a new MTC in Mexico that's going to be super big!

Nilza, the girl that's in the branch, left for the mission this week. It was good but kind of sad as well. She cried a little when she was telling us goodbye. She's really helped us a lot to visit people and to find houses because she really knew the area.

Well I hope that you have a great week! Love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Birthdays

This week was a little slowish. Tuesday we went back with the Hermana Reina, the wife of the guy that took us fishing, and we ate the little lobsters. They were good!......yeah. I only ate two. But I did it. It was a little hard because the legs were a little crunchy. But I did it. Wow the things I do for you guys just so that I can tell you interesting things....;) haha!!!! No it wasn't too bad. Then we went back with them on Thursday because it was the son's 5th birthday! It was awesome! We helped decorate the cake, take pictures of the party, and of course eat the cake. Yummy! Also this Sunday was Elder Gamez's birthday so we went to the branch president's house that night and ate dinner, had a piñata, and enjoyed the time.

The family Flores didn't make it this week. The Hermana Odet went to the capital with the son, Bryan, that's studying there so they didn't make it. But we have plans to visit them this week with the branch president and his wife. We'll see what happens. Venessa wasn't ever in her house. We'll see what happens this week. We want to get an answer from her directly.

Today we went to the waterfalls again. I think I enjoyed them even more this time. We took more pictures and were able to relax and just enjoy being there. Our weather has been good this week. Rained a little. There was some sun. Not too bad. A lot better than your weather I'm sure haha!

Fishing on P-Day

This week was a lot better. My companion didn't end up buying the medicine because she finally slept that night and it helped her a ton! She's doing tons better. We were able to work all week (woohoo) and were able to find some new people to teach. There are some that know how to speak cekchi (sorry can't spell that). They taught us how to say a few things! We also invited Vanessa to be baptized. She's thinking and praying about it. Her husband told her that she needed to choose because she was attending two churches and he said that she was playing with God. She likes the church and everything but her family has a huge influence on her. We also had a good day on Sunday because the family Flores finally made it to church!!!!! We were super super excited! They said that they had been waiting for a good day to come to church and things finally lined up and they made it! The branch was super good as well and they greeted them and helped them feel more at home. We're finally seeing some progression with them. We also had the goodbye party for Nilza. The girl that's leaving on the mission for Mexico. She enters the mission next week Wednesday. She's really helped us out a lot. She's going to be a great missionary.

Today we had a great P-day. We went fishing.....yeah I thought it would be boring but we went fishing for mini lobsters. I'm not sure what they're called. We used baskets that have holes and scooped the water. And then we looked in the mud and sticks and everything that was left in the basket for animals that moved. Then we picked out the mini lobsters and put them in a container. It was awesome! And in the end some of us had a mud and water fight. That was super fun! I'll try to send pictures of that. I got a teeny bit burned. We haven't seen the sun much recently. It's been raining but yesterday and today were finally good days!

Things are going really well here. I'm loving the work and working hard. Most of all loving the people. I hope that you have a great week and  love you tons and tons!!!!!!!!!!!

An Inside Week

Well this week went really slow. We were in the house all week. My companion had a fever a few days, coughing, can't sleep well at night. We finally got her an antibiotic today. Hopefully this will help her. It's not that she feels really bad but she can't breathe very deeply because when she does she starts to cough. Especially when she lays down to sleep. A few times she's been almost without air because of course we're in the house and we talk and she starts to laugh (because I'm so funny ;) haha) and then ends up coughing. She scared me and herself a few times. We keep the laughing on the minimum. But hopefully this will really help her now.

We were dying of cold this week. Monday was super hot and then it went downhill from there. Thursday we almost died. It was like the high 40s. I know that's nothing for you but here we were dying. Then it kept going about 50s for to days more and finally today it's been normal again. It also gets colder in the night. They say it's normal for this time of the year to get cold like this but man I didn't think it would get so cold!!!!!

We'll see what happens this week. I love you tons and tons!!!!!! Have a great week.

Nice and Warm

The weather is crazy here! After we got back from the capital and everything it's been nice and warm. A little hot these last few days haha! Luckily it's still cooling down a little at night so that we can sleep well. This week was better than last week. We were able to work until Saturday. I think I ate something bad but we spent the day in the house. Also my companion got a cold from some less actives so she's been coughing these last two days....we've got some rotten luck haha!

But we had a pretty good week. We couldn't visit the family Flores because Jonathan is sick. Maybe this week. But Vanessa is doing well. She's always willing to listen to us and really likes it that we visit her. Hopefully she can make it to church this week. She was at her mother-and-law's this weekend. We're looking for more investigators again. The ones that we found before fell through so we're searching again haha. Always searching. But hopefully things will get better this week. I gave a talk on Sunday and the elders as well. We all talked about sharing the gospel and Elder Child, my DL, reprimanded them that they need to give us references and then visit them with us. Because it's the same thing if they give us the reference and don't visit them with us as if we just randomly knocked on their door. We'll see how things go.

This week are transfers. In my district we just have Elder Child, my DL, that's going to to the capital and another elder that's going to the capital as well. Those are the only transfers in my district. So we'll see who are the new people this week.....

I love you tons and tons!!!!! Hope that you have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The New Year

We didn't really get to work this week. Monday we went and visited the other missionaries and they played soccer. Then we came back to Poptun, used internet, and visited a sister in the ward. She gave us tamales and then we got back to the house early to sleep on New year's Eve. On New Year's Day my companion woke up and didn't feel so well. We ended up only working two days this week. Hopefully she'll feel better soon.

The family Flores is doing better. For the first time the dad sat down and listened to us so we're really happy.

It's been raining here the last few days. It's been a little cool but not like the capital. I was dying this morning. I think it was like 60 degrees but I was really really cold. My companion told me that I shouldn't be so cold because I'm from a cold place but my excuse is that I'm already used to being here and this weather. haha

Last night we made the happy journey to the capital. Not because my companion's sick but because she had to do stuff with her papers to be in the country. I had to do that a long time ago and there wasn't another sister from Peten that needed to go so I got to come with her. I'm a little tired because we always travel all night but we'll be going up again tonight as well.

I love you tons and tons!!! Be safe and have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year

Christmas was alright. The 24th was better because we were celebrating but on Christmas almost everyone left and was visiting or sleeping because they didn't sleep the night before. The day after Christmas was better and we were able to work some this week. We're getting better and better with more investigators. Today again though is the holiday and tomorrow is going to be rough again. Thanks for the phone call! I loved talking to you all!!!!

We had a new investigator that came to church this week. Her name's Vanesa. She's great. She liked the church and she really likes that there's classes for the little kids because other groups don't have them for kids so small. We're hoping that we can progress with her. We also found a new family this week. Kevin and Susana. They're young and they aren't attending a church right now. We've only visited one time but they look like a really good possibility.

Tonight we're going with a recent convert that we're teaching her husband. They're going to have more tamales! I'm excited! They're really good!

I hope that everyone has a great end of the year and that the new year starts out well!!! Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
